One Mans Trash is our treasure!

So Tony and I after we got married got a bunch of pretty nice hand me down furniture. Unfortunately, we made some pretty poor choices and have since sold it to some lucky college students up at BYU-Idaho. Since then we have collected mess ups from Dad's old business, dumpster diving (OK, so we found the coffee table next to it), and from old employers gone horribly wrong. Our furniture has been lacking serious sophistication... until now. I know that we still have a long ways before it really all comes together, but here are two pieces that we have redone in the past couple weeks. (sorry there is no "before picture" of the coffee table. Trust me, it was sad. It had a stained wood top, glitter and mystery marks included, and a hunter green trim and legs. It was always cluttered and I didn't care because in ways it looked better that way.)
The Futon after Tony had sanded it.

After!!
Our Pretty Coffee table!

I just want to thank the poor sap who threw out a perfectly good coffee table... If only they knew the potential this little sweetie had.

Burnt out of Spending money

Have you ever had those moments where you had to spend money on a bunch of needed things that you didn't want to spend it on anything you wanted? That's exactly how this month was. While in Phoenix we had our catalytic converter stolen and so it needed to be replaced. On top of that Tony needed a new phone for work because his was going out. After all the repairs and phone replacements were made I got some money for babysitting. Tony said, "you can spend it on anything you want". Normally the money would have been spent faster than one can say Eureka, but this time I looked at the extra money and just thought, "I just got this... I don't want to spend it." I am thankful for the ability to be able to pay for things, but I've decided that its really nice to save money too.

Our little man!

I know that the poles are still open to guess to see what our little baby is, but I have told a bunch of you and now the votes aren't true guesses so I thought it to be a perfect time to post my first scrapbook creation. So as you can see we are having a little boy! We haven't totally decided on the name yet, but I think that we are going to keep it a secret until he makes his appearance anyway.

I was so excited when we went in for our sonogram yesterday. The tech was really cool and did whatever we asked. We thought it might be a little early to know the sex, but our little guy was quite open and it stuck out like a sore thumb (no pun intended...hehe) Anyway. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Also, I apologize for the sudden privacy of our blog. We had weird comment from this lady that was bordering stalking. If you would like to see what she said just look at the comments from the previous post. You'll know it when you see it.

It's Something

So things around here have been pretty routine so I haven't really had anything super blog worthy to post. I am, however, going in on Monday for a Sonogram. If the baby is feeling especially open about exposing itself we may be able to find out what our little miracle is, but don't get your hopes up because they never seem to want to cooperate the way you want them to. On another note. The other day I came out into the living room to find this lil' cutie (I offered no assistance in how she got this way):

I know that dogs aren't on the top of everyone's interest level, but I thought it was funny and it gave me an excuse to use my camera some more. I will be posting pictures later next week of the sonogram and let you know of any news.
