Goodbye Little Truck

Since Tony and I had Landon we couldn't really use the little red truck. We sold it last week and it was very hard for Tony to let go. It was his first car and it went through a moose hunt (we had our first date scouting for moose in it), trips back and forth from Cali to Idaho, Moves to Arizona and Utah, and finally here where it got stolen and found again. I know this is a silly thing to post about, but we loved that little red truck.

Pictures!

There really hasn't been anything super exciting going on but I thought I would post a few pictures of myself, Tony and Landon. Landon is getting bigger by the day. We love him so much. He is starting to laugh and smile a lot and his personality is starting to come out too.

I love this outfit!

What a Week

As some of you may know Landon had a cold for the last week and a half and it got the better of me. He did pretty well mood wise for the first part of it, but towards the middle of it he took a turn for the worse. He would go through hours of screaming and refused to eat, and on top of it, he got his 2 month shots. He wasn't sleeping well because of his congestion and basically lived in his car seat so that the snot wouldn't run into his throat. I had a really hard time with it because he only really cried when he was hungry in the middle of the night and if I took too long to put him down for his naps. I was convinced that someone made off with Landon and replaced him with a little monster.
I had a mental breakdown in the pediatrics office the other day. I had tweeked my back trying to get him out of the car and couldn't really stand up straight so I had to hold him sitting down, which made him cry harder. I was shedding tears trying not to draw attention to myself, but with Landon crying it was like he turned on the neon sign saying 'Look at me!' . Everyone was staring and a man came up to me and asked if I needed help. I regret to say that I handed my child over to a complete stranger and just sobbed my eyes out. I don't say this to organize a pitty party, but just for my own sake to realize that these things don't last forever. While Landon was sick I decided to get Baby Wise with the money I got for my birthday and am doing a lot better sticking to a routine with him. Which I think has made him happy, which ultimately makes me happy as well. Plus, he is feeling better so I'm sure that helps a lot. Tony was really helpful during all this. He didn't complain that things didn't get done. I have the best husband ever.

Our little Moosey

Yesterday for halloween our ward had a Chili Dinner and Trunk or Treat. I really wanted Landon to go as a moose because moose scouting was Tony and my first date. I looked all over to find one and the only things I could find were pea pods, pumpkins, a tootsie roll and a whole bunch of other cute costumes that were way to big for him. My friend Audra thought "Have you checked Bass Pro Shop?" I hadn't and so she checked and they had one! It's not technically a costume, but it worked. He looked so stinkn' cute in it! He couldn't wear it all night because it is a winter bunting suit. Anyway, Here are a couple photos of the night.

Landon's photo shoot

This is Landon's first photo shoot. It was taken a few weeks ago, but I thought you would like to see them. There are a lot on here so don't worry if you don't get through them all. Enjoy!

Moven' up!

Landon had been in his bassinet since we brought him home, but we noticed that he wasn't sleeping as well as he had when he was smaller. I was in his room putting away his laundry when I found out why. He He likes to sleep with his arms almost straight over his head (which ruled out swaddling). He had hit his hands on the side of the bassinet and it startled him pretty good and woke up and started crying. We obviously had the crib set up, so I thought that since he was still tired I would try to put him in that. He really likes all the room and sometimes when I go in at night he is turned a complete 180 from when I set him down. Here are a couple pictures of him enjoying his Crib
We have to uncover at least one hand for him to suck on because the binky doesn't work.

Why do I attract the Weirdos?!

I have come to find that I seem to attract weird people in stores. First it was the "Hey Lady!" guy and the guy who told me I made a mistake by getting married at OSH, then a few months ago I was at the pharmacy with my sister-in-law Hilary and there were a slew of interesting people. The details on that particular trip are a little hazy, but I have an even better story. Today Tony and I went to Raley's to drop off a prescription when I came across this guy. Tony was checking out the flu shot table while I dropped off the prescription. This guy walks up to the counter and this is roughly how the conversation went down:
Man: Hello
Traci: Hi
M: Check it out I got a new Medicare card!
T: That's cool
M: Yeah... Hey you look like someone in a movie
T: I've been told I look like Hilary Duff
M: No, that's not it. You look like someone else.
T: I dunno then
M: I know! Have you ever seen Vampire Slayer?
T: Can't say that I have.
M: Well you look like a girl in that movie
T: Ok. (trying to avoid eye contact and looking for Tony)
(Tony enters stage Right)
M: Hey you look like someone
A: ......ok
M: have you ever seen King of Queens?
A: um..maybe
M: Well you look like Doug on that show.
A: Is he the UPS guy?
M: Yeah the bigger guy.
A: Sweet, Thanks.

Luckily someone from the pharmacy started to help him. I had a hard time not busting up laughing with this one. I don't mind people being friendly, but there is a point to when friendly just turns into down right weird. I kinda think this is hilarious, but also know that its a sign that I can't be too careful when I go out. Who knows who I'll run into.

Just because He's Cute

My sister Becca wanted me to post more pictures of Landon and I had some new ones on my camera. There really hasn't been much that has been going on. Landon is a month old now and he is sleeping a lot better than before. Last night he slept for almost 5 hours! I don't know if that is too soon for him to go that long, but I sure appreciated the extra Z's. Anyway, here are some pictures took. Taking a bath
Hanging out just lookn' cute
Can you tell he's hungry?
Little feet!

What a cute smile!

Finally got my hair cut!

So I finally got my hair cut! I really needed to do it a lot sooner because I didn't get it cut my entire pregnancy. Sad huh? Anyway, I will get some better ones on here, but this is the best I have for now. I love it! The girl that cut it did a really good job.

My quilt is finished!

So it has been done for a while, but I just wanted to post pictures of the final product. You can't see, but the back is done with Dot Minky. I think it turned out really nice for a first attempt. I don't really have much to add, but just in case you didn't see the previous post check it out. There are pictures of Landon and myself.

Update Smorgasbord!!

So in light of getting the internet back I thought I would take the liberty (Since Landon is asleep and I'm not about to pass out with exhaustion) to give you guys a little update on how life has been since we brought our little guy home.

Tony and I had the pleasure of having my mom come and help us out with the baby. Its a good thing she did because everyone always talks about how difficult and scary labor is, but they never tell you about what really happens after the baby comes. It was definitely a lifestyle shock! I thought I was prepared for sleep deprivation during pregnancy, but oh, was I wrong. Its just a different type of exhaustion. On top of that, I ended up tearing last minute in the delivery so I have been recovering from that and am glad to say that I am doing much better. Also, I have already passed my pre-pregnancy weight. Sorry if this information is a little upsetting, but it just goes to show that a bit of hard work goes a long way. I have my friends Renee and Scott to thank for that. I honestly couldn't have done it without them. I felt bad for my mom because we really didn't do much while she was here. So, I'm glad that she and my dad are coming back out next month for the blessing.Me just a couple weeks after having Landon. I'm happy with where I'm at, but I'm itching to get back into the gym.

Landon with his Noni

Life sure has been an adjustment, but we have really enjoyed having Landon with us. I feel bad because Tony has had the worst of the occupational hazards of having a baby. When we were in the hospital he did practically all the diaper changes. I commend him because before that he hadn't changed a single diaper, it was the gross tar like poo, and he changed like 7+ per hour. We have both been soiled on by this little guy, but Tony has been the only one that has been full on vomited on. As I write this it makes me chuckle a little, but in all actuality it really is quite disgusting. I have been spit up on, but nothing like what Tony got. Anyway, aside from that Landon is doing great. He passed his hearing screening today and is packn' on the pounds as any healthy little boy does. He is already outgrowing some of his clothes. Here are some pictures that we have taken of him so far.Ready for take off?? This is him while he was doing his Ear screening test. I think this picture is hilarious.

Taking a nap on his Noni

He wasn't happy that daddy delayed his lunch to take his picture

Waiting to go to Church

Loven' his toys

"Drunk" with satisfaction (aka Boobie drunk)

Lots more to come. We also have other pictures on our facebook. Tony can upload photos from his phone so his might have the most recent ones.

Back in business!

Tony and I finally got internet back. We tried to go a few months without it to save some money, but we in turn ended up spending the same amount if not more because I wasn't able to keep track of things on a daily basis. On top of that, I would get a little stir crazy because I didn't have anything to occupy my time. So... expect lots of updates on our little family :) We are so excited to have Landon with us. He is a cutie!

Our baby story

On Tuesday this week I had my final weekly OB appointment. I went in and they did the exams and after a short discussion about my baby's fetal movements after monitoring they decided to send me to the hospital to take some extra precautions. Tony was out working so I called him to let him know to come back and then we got a hold of his mom to meet me there so I would have someone there with me. I was there for a couple of hours when they decided to induce labor. They started with a gel, but they eventually decided that Pitocin was needed to push things along. I was going to try to have the baby without the epidural, but the contractions got too much to handle given the medication I was on. I went in at around 12p but I would say that I actually started labor at around 4 or 5. Time didn't seem to register to me until it I got close to delivery. I was really grateful to have some visitors. Tony's sister and dad, our friends Renee and Scott, and Tom and Laurie came by to congratulate us as well as give their support. TV also helped with the labor. It was a nice distraction to everything that was going on. I feel a little hazy about everything because the only thing I really remember was the people, my left leg going completely numb while my right only going partially numb, and the delivery. We had awesome nurses to help out, especially our delivery nurse. She was very concerned with me and my needs and was an awesome motivator when it came down to delivering. Tony did an excellent job as well. I don't think I could have done it without them. Also, turning off the epidural towards the end of the delivery helped out a lot too. I still had enough medication to where it didn't hurt, but I could feel where to focus my energy rather than pushing more mentally. Landon Robert Rudd Liston was finally born on September 2nd, at 1:36a. He was 8 lbs 3.6 oz, 21.2 inches and just came out looking so beautiful. I will have more pictures of him later. I just need to get them transferred from my camera, but here are a couple to start.

Right after I delivered . Poor thing had no idea what was going on.

In the recovery room. Much more content. Isn't he such a cutie??

Seriously?!

So for all of those who have had kids before, I'm sure you know exactly what I'm talking about. Tuesday morning I went in for my weekly OB appointment and they did the exam. I was expecting the violation, but I wasn't expecting it to hurt as much as it did. The Doctor told me I could expect spotting, which I did, but I seriously felt like it was that time of the month again. (a feeling I haven't gotten in several months obviously) I started to feel better by the time I went and worked out that evening and felt fine until Tony and I went to bed around midnight. I was laying in bed and I started to get real contractions. I got a little nervous because these were the first ones I had felt that were pretty consistent. I called the hospital a couple times. They told me to track them and they were close enough that they wanted me to come in. I went in, they hooked me up to the monitors and Tony and I were all pumped because we were thinking this was it. Finally, right? NOPE! We were there for 3 hours and we ended up going home empty handed and very exhausted. I haven't really felt any contractions since and learned that just because you are dilated to about a 3 doesn't mean that baby is coming out. You have to be 100% effaced as well. Which I'm only about 30%. (sorry if that was more than you wanted to know.) Anyway, I just thought I would give the update. I'm still feeling great, but I am getting anxious. Two more weeks!! (Hopefully! cross your fingers!)

Going Stir Crazy

So as many of you guys have noticed I only have 3 short weeks to go..... well in reality 3 weeks isn't really a long time, but in the world of a pregnant woman 3 weeks seems like Forever! I will say, I haven't had it bad at all and I really don't have any real complaints other than the fact I just can't move the way I want, and it is increasingly difficult to sleep at night. I know I should cherish this time of the last couple weeks of movements, but I am more anxious to get him out and hold him than anything. Not to mention it will be nice to be able to put my shoes on, shave my legs, work out legitimately, and do other various daily tasks without assistance or inconvenience from a large belly getting in the way. Thanks to everyone who has supported and uplifted me during my pregnancy. I will keep you all posted on when the day arrives.

On a different note, I got my quilt back from the quilting place and I am almost finished! I have almost completed the first side of my binding and will be starting the second (and much more time consuming side) soon. I will post pictures of the finished product as soon as it is finished.

5000 lbs Later and 16 Fish

So this is going to be a little bit of a brag session, but I am so proud of myself. Today, I lifted a total of 5000 lbs. NOT all at once of course, but our workout today was one of the qualifiers that they used in the Crossfit Games. I chose my weight, which dictated my reps, chose the clean/push jerk technique, and went for it. I ended up lifting 53lbs 95 times and finished in a time of 16:47 and a slight tear on my hand on the bar. This obviously wouldn't put me in the games, but for being preggo that's pretty darn good. I have been working out this way for about 2 months and I couldn't feel better. No worries, I'm not hurting the baby at all. He has been very active, the doctor has said his heart sounds excellent thus far, and I wouldn't be surprised if he popped out and did a push-up or two ;)

This is me a little after I first started doing a one-handed Dumbbell snatch. Don't be alarmed on how red my face is. It has always been that way when I work out.

Also, I forgot to mention that Tony went fishing with his dad up in Clarks Fork. He caught 16 fish! Out fishing his dad by 8 fish. I'm glad that he has such a good relationship with his dad. Way to go Tony!

So behind....

Tony and I don't have interent at our apartment for now and I have gotten so behind on my blogging. I guess it is a good thing that nothing has really gone on since, but at the same time there has. I am down in the single digits of weeks left. I am so excited to get this little guy into the world, but not too excited that I would want him to come too early. He has become very active lately. I enjoy it, but it has impeded on my sleep in a very obnoxious way. I know it will all be worth it in the end, and I'm sure this is just Heavenly Fathers way of helping me prepare for the inevitable sleep deprivation I will experience once he is in the world. I will be getting more belly shots taken soon by my friend so there will be a fresh batch in the next week or so. Thank you for all your comments. Sorry this isn't a very fun post to look at.

Baby bump pictures! (Updated!!)

So I know that these pictures are long overdue, but I have been having some technical difficulties with my computer and we don't have internet at our place for now. I pulled these pictures off of family facebooks and blogs so I'm glad that someone posted them. I will post more pictures as I get them, but these should do for now.

My baby shower: I have such good sister-in-laws and a wonderful mother-in-law. They put the whole thing together. Thank you to all who came. I really appreciated the support.

I don't know why I got stuck in front... my belly is getting soo big. Oh well.

Me and my beautiful sister-in-law Megan. I am 29 weeks in this picture and I think she is 17 weeks. We both look stunning with our baby bumps. :)
