February Flowers

The weather has been so nice here the past couple of weeks. All the trees are really blossoming and so Tony and I decided that we were going to go out and take some pictures. While we were there we could hear all the bees doing their jobs to pollinate the flowers. They were so loud. It was pretty cool.

This is a barn on our street that I really liked so I decided I had to have a picture of it.

We were trying to get some pictures of the bees on the trees, but they were not cooperating with us.

I got Tagged

1. 10 years ago: I was a 12 year old girl struggling with the 'joys' of puberty.... what an awful time...

2. 5 things on my to-do-list today: File my FAFSA forms for both me and Tony, finish the laundry, work out, do my homework, and read my book.

3. Snacks I enjoy: Almonds, popcorn, berries, chips and salsa, and crackers and cheese.

4. Things I would do if I were suddenly a billionaire: Buy a house, get a new car (Honda CRV), Pay off debt, save, travel, and help family members in need.

5. Places I have lived: Arizona, Michigan, Idaho, California, Alabama, and Oklahoma (for 3 days, but it counts bc we had everything unpacked and then had to repack again... yeah, annoying)

6. Jobs I have had: Subway, Little Caesars, Phone surveyor for Promark Research, Office assistant and administrator for American Alarm, Cashier at Orchard Supply Hardware.

7. Things people don't know about me:
* I love to take pictures. I Think that Photography is way fun.
*I love to work out. It makes me feel so much better and I usually have a better day.
* I have lost over 15 lbs since I have moved to Turlock in Sep. 07
* I hate being lost. It makes me sooo irritated.
* I don't typically like reality shows, but I do really like Big Brother and Survivor. They are interesting to me
* I love to snowboard
* I like to tease my dog. (Not too much, but I will tickle her feet and ears or drip water on her)

I tag: No one, I have already been tagged before, so I figure I'll just let people read and get to know me :)

Balln'!

We have been getting notices from Comcast since we moved away from Tucson. I guess we paid a little too much for one of our bills. They have been sending us notices of disconnection with a negative balance. We have been calling them and ignoring the notices for the past 6 months and this week it finally payed off. We received a check from Comcast for the amount they owed us. It was a check for $1.08!! We looked at it and laughed. We joked about all the "possibilities" of what we could do with the money. They were very limited of course and involved small toiletry items or food, but we found it amusing.

She does what?!

So the last little while I have noticed that Roxy has been trying to be helpful with cleaning up her mess. Unfortunately, this means that she has been eating her excrement. (Barf!) I don't know why she did it so, I did some research about it and found that dogs do it when they are bored or if their food isn't being digested properly (I guess they still smell some of the nutrients in it). The understatement of the year is that it is just plain sick. I have been trying to clean it up each day and throw it in the bushes, but apparently the phrase "out of sight out of mind" didn't quite work because she was still digging it out. So I went online and found that if you put hot sauce or someting along those lines on it then when they eat it they will stop eating it. So that's what I did. I took a bottle and sprinkled it on all the nuggets on the patio and in the bushes. She wasn't going for them like I thought she would so after I had finished getting ready I went out with a sandwich bag and picked a small one up and popped the hot poop in her mouth and held it shut. She was showing discomfort, so I let go and she dropped the remaining bit. I popped the rest back in and she just rolled over and tinkled. I know this is really gross, but after I did it I brushed her teeth with her special tooth brush and gave her some real treats. She got 2 peanut butter buddies for doing such a good job with coopperating. Hopefully, this will put an end to it.

The dog is a goof

Here is Roxy doing what she does best. Today she did nothing but sleep and when I got home from work all she wanted to do was play. This is a little video of her being silly.

Step Up 2: The Streets

So Tony and I redeemed our Delta Blood Bank points for movie tickets and decided to go see Step Up 2. I thought that I was going to have to twist his arm to come and see this with me because I ended up seeing the first one by myself 2 summers ago while he was finishing his last day knocking. I showed him the trailor and heard the music that they played and he suggested to me to go see it. Long story short, it was a pretty good movie. It had some pretty sweet dancing, we liked the music, the story wasn't too bad, it had good humor in it, I don't remember hearing any swearing in it ( I could be wrong so don't hold me to it!!), The chick flick factor was tollerable, and it only had a couple of mild cheesey parts to it. It obviously wasn't the movie of the year, but over all good. It isn't a must see, but if you did go see it in theaters it wouldn't be a complete waste of your money. I gave it 3.75 out of 5 stars. (maybe even 4).

Happy Birthday Roxy!

Today is Roxy's Birthday. She is 1 year old. Yay for Roxy! We didn't really do anything for it because we 1 forgot to pick a few things up (due to shortage of money), 2 She's a dog so she won't really know the difference, and 3 we can always get a party hat in a day or two and post those. P.S. Sorry the Video is so crappy. We didn't really have the best lighting and it was done on Tony's Cell phone, but the point is you can obviously see her Happy Meter going full force. I was surprised that she didn't tinkle all over the floor in excitement.

New Drivers license

So today I went down to the DMV to get my drivers license changed and when I stepped up to the counter the lady asked me if I had all my Identification papers and I smiled and said yes. After she asked me all the questions about what name was going on it and asked for all the documents she looked at me and said, "Wow you really did your homework." I smiled again at her and told her, "well I have been here twice before and they told me that they needed something new every time I came in so I guess 3rd time's a charm." I had a little bit of a scare when I went up to the counter after my number was called because they at first didn't think that my marriage certificate was real, but everything was good. So $28 later, I got my picture taken, took the test, missed two, and 2 hours of waiting at various desks, they sent me on my way. So now I officially have a California Drivers License. I know it's not that exciting, but what a relief. Anyway, thats it.

The Hospital Job

Well I (Tony) just found out that I did not get the job at the hospital. There must of been some really good applicants for them not to choose me. I however start at Home Depot on Wed. I am not upset about not getting the job cause I did my best. Everything else is great.

Roxy's Friend

Here is a picture that I (Tony) took of Roxy and Savanah. I think it is funny because it looks like Roxy has no leggies. She really is a hot dog in this picture. Hehe. They like to play with eachother. If you ever want to get a rise out of Roxy then just pet Savanah. She gets jealous and starts "attacking" Savanah.

Awkward!

So this morning Tony told me as we were driving to church that I was going to lead in the teaching for Sunbeams. I said that was fine, but had a sinking feeling. I'll be honest... I'm not that good with kids. I always feel so weird around little kids. I think it is because I have never really been one of those Young Women, that when a new baby is born in the ward, who rush the mother politely demanding to hold it. If you saw me holding a child it was probably because I was asked to. But anyway.... I got into the class and our topic this time was about prayer. Easy enough right? Well we sat down and my mind blanked out on how to start the lesson. Tony and our girls were looking at me and finally I got a few things out, but it was clear that I was struggling. Tony, thank goodness, has some experience with kids jumped in and pulled things together and took some of the pressure off. I know that this calling was definitely something that is to prepare me for my time as a mother. I love the girls that I teach I think that they are so precious. I love how they are so cuddly and so generously give their little hugs. They are so smart.
