I admit... I'm a nerd...

So I was watching a couple shows the other day and while skipping commercials I happened to see a clip of the new Twilight movie. It was super exciting to actually see it on TV because now I know that it is getting close. It will be here before I know it! I know that it is probably super lame that I am so excited about it, but I have little to get excited about these days. Which in itself is, also, very sad. Anyway, just humor me and watch the clip. If you haven't read the books then give the movie a shot. I think that if you watch the movie you will be intrigued about what happens in the books. I have already convinced my sister to read them (whom doesn't read much other than the scriptures) and I think I am very close to getting my mom to read them as well. Anyway, enough said. Here it is for your viewing pleasure :)

Updates and Rants...

So I haven't really had anything super blog worthy, but I thought I would give you guys a bit of an update. This is gonna be long one so you have been forewarned. Tony has started his Job with ADT (Finally!!!) and I have yet to find a job. I have found that craiglist is not a reliable source for job searching because you will apply for dozens of jobs, get the run around, and the best response you will get is from 'Sister Mary Joseph', apparent CEO of career experts. Which might I add is not even a real response because when I was told I had to pay $100 for a resume template, I responded back with "I can't afford that.....", all she said was "Thank you for your response I will pass this information on to your potential employers.....". (which she had sent me the same email the time before). ???? :/

Anyway, Tony is having a great time with his new job, but he is a little stir crazy because they are having him start on square one with the training. He also has to go out of town to do a crash course on the products and sales tips next month for a few days. He isn't so excited with that because Tony has this unexplained issue with flying.. Besides that we are going to be moving into our new place at the first of the month. We are pretty excited about this. Things are really starting to turn around. There is nothing like hitting rock bottom (well almost) that really puts a positive prospective on your future. (If this statement sounds strange its because it probably is, but if you think about it, things can only get better).

Also, I have been running around CSUS campus with Emily and am proud to say that we made it all the way around and back to her house without taking a walking break. I decided to be a little adventurous and run on one of our off days around my neighborhood. I now completely understand why trainers and health articles suggest working out with a buddy because it is hard to keep yourself moven' when no one is watching. I ran the same distance by myself, but I really like having the company of my friend (and my sweetheart driving behind us to keep us safe) much better. We Rock Em!

So now for the 'rant' portion of my blog.... Today I was out applying for a few more jobs and running errands. Being that it is close to election day everyone has their yard signs of who they are going to vote for and what their views are on certain propositions. As many of you may be aware, California has a proposition to protect the definition of marriage. While out I saw one of the most appalling displays in advertisement. Someone had the nerve to take a "Yes On 8" sign from someone (Mandy-Maybe this is where your yard sign went ;P) and Sharpied in "No on 8". I understand that people have different views than mine, but don't be a larcenous cheap wad. (Sorry if the language is a little strong..) I was, however, glad to see that it was taken down by the time I was on my way home. This isn't even the worst of it. I know of a family that had their car pretty heavily vandalized because they were making a stand on what they believed. All I can say is people need to grow up learn how to deal with opposition.

I've Been Tagged

I have been tagged a few times and so now I'm afraid that I am running out of things to say, but Here goes...
I was tagged by Alicia
1. Lately I have been a victim of day time cooking shows. I sit there and drool over most of what is being made and then go and email myself the recipe.
2. I have moved more times in the past 2-3 years than most people do their whole lifetime. (11 times just in case you were wondering.) Some of them were mini moves, but I still had to pack and unpack so I think it counts.
3. I tried fish and crab for the first time a month ago and actually didn't mind it that much. If you know anything about Boardmans, you would know that seafood has no business on our table... Tony has been trying to get me past it for years. So, we went to Red Lobster on evening and I tried a bit of his fish. It wasn't too bad.
4. I love to run. It is my time of meditation and it makes me feel absolutely wonderful when I'm done. Call me crazy, but I kinda like the wiggly jelly feeling my legs get when I finally hit the stop button on the treadmill.
5. I have decided that I am really looking forward to being a house wife and mother. Since moving back I have been home a lot looking for jobs. I like to do laundry and having things clean and be there when my sweet husband comes home to see me. I want to be mother because I am a kid at heart and love to play all the games little kids do anyway, so why not have a good excuse.
6. Veggies no longer go missing under my napkin or left for the garbage disposal. If you would have asked me a few years ago about my favorite veggies here is what I would have told you: Carrots, Celery, Cucumbers, Corn, Green Beans, Iceberg Lettuce, Pickles, and potatoes. I still really like these but I have incorporated more colorful veggies to my diet. To name just a few broccoli, asparagus, various squash, and Zucchini. It just goes to show you never know what you will like until you try it.
7. I am really looking forward to being able to decorate my own place. I am tired of "college furniture" and hand-me-downs. Don't get me wrong they are great when you don't have any money, but I am looking forward to getting furniture that no one else sat on it before me or is inches from resembling a hammock.
I know I am supposed to tag others, but I'm going to leave it up to a volunteer basis.

A Positive Step Forward

So today I went out with Tony and Roger to go and walk the streets for Proposition 8. For those of you who are not familiar with Prop 8, to sum it up, it is a proposition to protect marriage as only between a man and a woman in the state of California. Anyway, I went out and knocked a few streets with Tony and I would have to say it wasn't that bad. Tony did most of the talking, but I put in a few words here and there. We got a lot of really good responses and only one guy that said that "heterosexuals 'screwed' up marriage with the divorce rate as proof (blah blah blah)". I was really excited about it. I'm sure that it was just blind luck that we got so many good responses, but what a night. Its kinda scary to imagine what kinds of collateral damage that will happen if it doesn't pass. Apparently France did a study on something similar to this and decided not to pass it because of the harm it would do to society. They didn't report what they found, but if France wouldn't even pass it, it must have been bad.
