5 Months, Making Progress, and Hashimoto's Thyroiditis

Landon is 5 months old! Its hard to believe. He is growing up so fast! As many of you saw in our last post we have been working to get Landon towards rice cereal. I took a week off to give myself and him a break of the cereal. It seemed to pay off. He would spit most of it out, so I tried a medicine dropper to get it in his mouth and I actually emptied a small portion of cereal with him. He wasn't consistent about it so then I tried baby oatmeal instead. He really digs this stuff. He has gotten the concept of the spoon and is eating a pretty good amount these days. He has a cold, but is actually generally pretty pleasant considering things. On top of that Tony has gotten back into Crossfit. I'm super stoked for him because I think it will be good for our family to be in good shape. He is pretty motivated by his hunt in September. I'm all for whatever helps him to be healthier. On a different note, I think Landon has started to teethe. He gets cranky and super drooley at times. Both of which aren't much fun for me, but it is exciting that he is growing and developing. I will, however, be sad when I can't see that toothless grin anymore.

The last few days I have noticed that my throat has been swollen. I went into an urgent care and they told me that I had a possible thyroid condition that I needed to get some blood work done on. Long story short, 2 separate blood tests and an ultrasound later, I found out today that I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. Basically whats going on is my body isn't making enough hormones. Causing a lower metabolism (the one thing EVERYONE loves to hear...note sarcasm) and possible depression. I'm a little bummed because I really like to work out and eat healthy, but it's always a drag to make something that you wanted to do to something you now have to do. Everything is fine, I just have to take medication and really focus on keeping my diet and exercise on track. My doctor said it might resolve itself, but only time can tell. Anyway, that's pretty much all that has been going on with us. Here are a few pictures of our little cutie that we have taken.

His 5 month picture with Roxy. He is starting to become interested in her so She naturally wants nothing to do with him anymore. This was the best one that we got of them right next to eachother.

How he sleeps. I love it.

Yep, even in the car seat. This kid cracks me up.

Don't you just love his little toes?

Taken right after the previous one as the flash went off.

Your little man is such a hunk! So stinking cute.
Tracy... I went through the same thing 2 weeks ago, CRAZY! Blood Tests and an ultrasound on my thyroid. I'm sorry to hear your news. It's good to hear that it is very controllable.

I love those pictures of that cuttie little boy! Especially the after flash one. Haha, its so funny.

I hope that you are doing well Traci. At least you were already wanting to exercise so even though now it is more a requirement you dont have to force yourself. Hopefully as your Dr said that eventually it will resolve itself.

Love ya!
