I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!

Roxy (obviously not pictured above) has been in heat for the last few days. I went to Pet Extreme and bought an overpriced diaper that doesn't stay on her all the time. I am getting really tired of her whining because she is in her cage, waking up with marks on my thigh because letting her out at least allowed us to sleep, and having the change the sheets 2 times a week due to her Houdini skills getting out of her diaper with 1. super short arms and no fingers 2. without really moving that much because I never know that it happens. I am glad that Emily told me about the S.C.A.T.E voucher to get it cheaper because the whole reason we hadn't done it was because it was going to cost an arm and a leg to do it, and (bad joke alert!) Tony and I couldn't decide who was going to give up what. Anyway, Sorry for the complaining, but this is our 3rd dog cycle we have been through and needless to say, its getting pretty old.

Advice from Elder Busche

My mother-in-law sent this to me the other day and I found it to be very touching. Take time to watch it. It really was perfect timing for me and I'm sure many others who have seen it already.

6 Weeks appointment

So, yesterday was my official 6 weeks appointment. Tony was very supportive in coming with me too. They didn't do a Sonogram like I would have hoped, but I can't complain because everything was in good working order and my due date is around September 5th. There really isn't much else to say about it without going in to unneeded detail, so I will leave it at that. I hope to get my scanner up and running soon so I can post the picture from my visit about a week earlier. Anyway, just thought I would keep you posted.

Heart Beats and Udates

There really hasn't been a whole lot going on lately, but I am going crazy looking at the same post over and over (as I'm sure you are as well). Sorry there won't be any pictures this time. My dad and I sold my old camera and a few other things for an upgrade. It is still on back order so it might be a little while until some visual references appear.

Christmas was a blast. We had a ton of fun hanging out with my family. We went to movies, made birthday calenders, ate a bunch of really good food, and on the last night Tony and I were there we played laser tag and black light miniature golf. Tony survived the plane ride and a baby laughed his way through turbulence. It was really funny. It was sad to find out that my dog Batman has recently developed diabetes. Its just interesting how humans and animals can get the same sicknesses.

So as you know Tony and I are having a baby. Earlier this week I had a small complication. I started spotting, but was able to get into the OB to get it checked out. After all the awkward stuff was over, he told me that there was a 50/50 chance of carrying the baby full term. I was pretty upset about this and he did very well in answering all my question. I was supposed to schedule another appointment to get the sonogram/ultrasound, but the nurse on staff pulled some strings to get me in that day. The guy was really good at explaining things as we went along and while we were looking at all the structural stuff we saw this little dot flickering. It was our baby's heart! We were both really excited and he zoomed in on it and we were able to hear it for the first time together (at 5 weeks and 3-4 days). We were both really fortunate because if we went in a couple days earlier then we wouldn't have seen much of anything. Anyway, I suppose that's really the only news I have at this point. I am still super tired and nauseous (but not throwing up so thank goodness for that). Sorry for the lengthy post.

Surprise Photos

So, I know this is a little out of order, but these are the pictures of my family when we told them that we were preggo. We had to take a few shots because people didn't really think that Tony was serious when he told everyone on the countdown. I love how Bauer (my nephew) isn't interested in the least bit in what is going on, but in his defense, he is 3.

Pre surprise shot.

Taken right as Tony said it. I'm not really sure what my older brother is doing with the ball on his head, but oh well.
This had to be the best reaction shot out of them all. Aubrey... I would say I'm sorry for posting it, but in all reality, I'm not ;)

Oh Baby!

So, I know it won't be a surprise to some of you, but for those of you who don't know.... We're having a baby!! We found out right before Christmas, and thought that since we have already told our family, we would share the news with those who like to look at our blog. We are really excited about it because we have been trying for a few months and it finally stuck this time. We are due around the end of August/beginning of September. So, I will keep you updated on how things go with my appointments. If you have any advice, let me know. :)

Christmas Tree, Mini Thanksgiving, and Fishing

Its been a while since I have had something to post. My friends wanted to see a picture of my tree and so I snapped some shots of that and found these other ones that I thought you might be interested in looking at.
We made off like bandits with this tree. We were going to go buy a real one because you can get trees starting at $14.95, but we went to Wal-Mart to pick up our decorations first and found this little pre-lit beauty for $35!! We couldn't pass it up because it was that or 2 years of buying the "Charlie Brown" tree at the lot for $14.95. The ornaments were $5 for 24 (so we got 2 different colors) and then we went to Michaels and spent a little more on ribbon to wrap and make bows. So here it is!!

Here is a close up of all the elements we used in our tree. The ribbon didn't match perfectly, but I think it still turned out really well. Thanks, Audra for helping me make the bows :)This is what it looks like with the lights off. Yes, our star is none other than an ornament missing its hook cap :\
And with the lights on :)

Next on the agenda is our Mini Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful time at the Millers for a real thanksgiving, but I wanted to make another pie, and have an evening that didn't involve cuts and month-long bruises. Tony Made the hens, the green bean casserole, and the candied yams, and I made the mashed potatoes, the pie and the stuffing. How's that for team work?!
The Spread. Doesn't that Cornish Hen look tasty???
Our neighbor Audra was out of town so we thought that her husband Tony would want something a little more satisfying than cereal or hot dogs on Sunday.
Me digging in! Don't you love my flannel PJ pants?
Tony displaying the yummy pie I made.

Lastly, Here is our fishing trip we took up in the mountains with his dad. I had a good time once I my medicine kicked in. Unfortunately, it kicked in after we had finished our bumpy drive.
Me and Tony caught a fish. Ok, He caught it and I pulled the poor sucker in. So, I caught 1/2 a fish.
I mainly took pictures up in the mountains, I thought this was cool looking.
Me holding the fish I "caught".
My manly Fisherman.
